This Airaid system addresses two weak links in the original design: the air box location draws in hot engine compartment air, and the low intake location makes it vulnerable to ingesting mud and water into the engine when things get a little too deep. The snorkel relocates the engine"s air intake to the top of the roll cage, so drivers can attack the deepest mud holes without worrying about sucking debris into the engine. Occupants will be completely under water before the water level ever reaches the snorkel inlet. The snorkel supplies a steady supply of cold air and nests with the factory roll cage. The shape follows the styling of the rest of the UTV for a clean, factory look.
The snorkel assembly was developed specifically for the Ranger and attaches to the factory airbox via a specially molded coupler and a 3” diameter silicone hose secured with stainless steel clamps. The kit includes all of the hardware required for installation along with detailed instructions geared toward the do-it-yourselfer.
The system includes a massive cylindrical air filter that is a direct replacement for the restrictive stock paper filter element. The filter is constructed with AIRAID"s SynthaFlow® oiled composite media, which filters out dust particles, extends service intervals and increases ride time. The filter"s ends are made of a special blend of urethane that resists cracking or warping over time, and the filter is washable and reusable.
