BOLT locks are designed to permanently program to the specific vehicle"s ignition key, eliminating the need for multiple keys. When drivers insert their ignition key into the lock cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to only that key. Any number of BOLT locks may be set to open with the same vehicle key.
Six different lock types are currently available from BOLT: padlock, 5/8” receiver lock, 1/2” receiver lock, cable lock, spare tire lock and a GM tailgate handle.
In November, the company will also debut a Toolbox Handle Retrofit Kit, which is designed to prevent problems with lost keys and costly lockouts on truck-mounted toolboxes. It works with DeeZee®, Delta® and UWS Truck Accessories brand toolboxes featuring a paddle-style handle.
