Designed in a joint engineering effort between BD Diesel Performance and BorgWarner Turbo Systems' AirWerks program, BD offers turbo systems for the stock Dodge 5.9L Cummins and Chevy 6.6L Duramax engines that respond better than original designs plus flow enough air for racing applications, yet are responsive and durable enough for street and heavy towing applications.
Featuring unique low inertia Extended Tip compressor wheel technology, full-floating journal bearings, 6 pad thrust bearings and BD's unique dual-volute, dual-action waste gate turbine housing. This design utilizes low rpm exhaust pulses for improved turbine response, while the dual-action waste gate bleeds off turbine drive pressure from all cylinders.
BD's turbo systems also feature a heavy-duty waste gate actuator that prevents pre-mature opening caused by high exhaust pressure. The BD turbo can even be fine-tuned for ambient temperature and barometric pressure changes using BD's adjustable waste gate control. Put simply, the BD turbo gives more power, quicker response, cooler EGT's and lower exhaust emissions.
All of BD's single turbo systems are designed for easy, bolt-in replacement, all necessary adapters or new down pipe, and turbo feed/drain fittings. Designed for applications with 250-425 RWHP on the Dodge and 275-550 RWPH on the Chevys, the single turbos are ideal for street, towing and mild competition applications.
For Dodges owners who have a little or a lot more power, BD offers their Twin Compounded Turbo systems that are designed for street, towing and track usage all rolled into one. For the 350-575 RWHP range one can use the BD Super B Twin system and for more aggressive users pushing the 700hp+ mark, there's BD's R700, R850 or R1000 kits. A BD Cool-It intercooler can be for improved air density. For more info check out www.dieselperformance.com. Available from 4 Wheel Parts at 800-284-9840 or www.4WheelParts.com.
