The RockJock high pinion 60 rearend upgrade offers superior strength and durability features with adjustment options for custom installations.
Comparing the OEM (stock) differential with the Currie RockJock many of these features become obvious. The RockJock is the highest ground clearance 60 on the market, the only high pinion 60 with flow-thru oiling, high-strength nodular iron construction, and a bolt-on abrasion resistant skid plate. It's available as a bolt-on to replace the factory rearend unit in many common vehicle applications. The installation shown here was performed on a 2007 JK Wrangler that already has the Currie long travel kit installed, as well as their rear Antirock(r)
sway bar.

Lift vehicle, remove rear wheels, and set aside. Then remove the stock CV driveshaft by unbolting for and aft. This will require the removal of the center skid plate held by four bolts. Loosen the bolts on the differential that are attaching the sway bar, control arms and trac bar, but do not remove at this time. Also loosen shock absorber bolts at the differential.

To disconnect the parking brake cable; first use Vise-Grips to hold cables from automatically retracting inside the vehicle under the center console. Remove factory differential breather hose by pulling off fitting on the housing.

Completely remove brake calipers. Remove ABS sensors. These parts will be installed on the new RockJock rearend.

It is easier to remove the axles with an axle puller, when the differential is still mounted on the Jeep. First, tilt one end of the rearend with a floor jack to prevent the gear oil from leaking out. Pull the axle on that side. Remove brake backing plates for installation on the RockJock later. Replace the axle and repeat this process on the other side.
