Have you noticed lately how many brand new lifted trucks you see on the road? Where are all these lifted trucks coming from you might ask? Well there"s no question trucks are more popular than ever, so it would make sense to see more lifted trucks than ever. But why are so many people buying brand new trucks and modifying them, and what about the factory warranty? Are these people taking a big risk or what? Well the answer is easy, Car Dealerships. That"s right, today many GM, Ford, Dodge, Jeep, Nissan, and Toyota dealerships are adding custom lift packages to their stock trucks and Jeeps, creating custom vehicles you can drive right off the dealership lot. You see, today many dealerships have realized that buyers not only want a specific truck but they want to modify it as well. As it turns out, a dealership is the perfect place to not only buy your next truck, but buy it lifted too. There are many advantages to buying a turn-key lifted vehicles at a dealership. Some of these advantages seem oblivious; you can test drive the complete vehicle and know how it"s going to ride and see the so important stance it will have. You can also finance the complete package putting less strain on your pocket book. By now you may be saying to yourself, that all sounds fine and dandy, but what does a dealership know about building lifted trucks?

That"s where a company called Dealer Services International (DSI) comes in. DSI specializes in building lifted trucks for dealerships. That"s all they do, and they have been doing it for over 45 years. You can bet these guys know how to build a truck, whether it"s a Chevy 1500 or 2500 HD, or a Ford F150 or F250, these guys know the hot suspension setups and what wheel and tire combo will work best. They won"t build anything that just looks cool. All their suspension packages must be functional and compatible with each vehicle"s specific chassis design. That means the suspension systems installed must maintain OE alignment angles and ride quality to ensure functionality, comfort, and durability. Wheels are another area that requires careful selection. Sure style and finish are important, but most people don"t understand how proper off-set and rim width can affect bearing loads and wear on associated components. Tires can make or break a great setup; tread pattern, mud terrain or all terrain, is dependent on what"s important to the vehicle owner and their intended use, and, despite the old saying, size does matter. The wrong tire size can and will affect drive line ratios and could possibly reduce suspension articulation. You can quickly see how important it is to set your rig up the correct way, whether it"s been in the family for years or you"re buying it new.
